I have some other options for you to check out but Lippert said they do not have any detailed wiring diagrams for the jack. The ground is actually going to be your trailers ground, when the Lippert Electric Trailer Jack # LC285318 is wired the red power wire from the power Tongue Jack housing gets connected to a grounded 12V power supply on the trailer.

You may have some bad magnets in your brakes. It seems odd that 3 of the 4 would go bad but I have some tests that you can run to determine if they are bad or if the 1 magnet is bad and drawing more power than it should be. The wiring in series in normal for trailer brakes and does not explain why you are having the issue.
